Daghan Celayir

Born in Istanbul and living between his hometown and Paris, Daghan Celayir started his journey in production studying Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Bahçeşehir University. He was always interested in moving images.
His films were screened at national and international festivals and received several awards. In 2008, he produced and directed the short titled “The one note man” which was screened in 82 film festivals including Rotterdam and Angers, and has won more than 15 prizes.

Recently he wrote and directed “Home of Turquoise” for Turkish Airlines and Ministry of Culture. It was awarded as the best tourism film worldwide by International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals with a Gold Award Best Tourism Film and Cannes Media and TV Awards. At Zagreb Tour Film Festival it was awarded with Grand Prix, Jury Prize and a Special Award as best idea and screenplay.

In 2018 the director won the award for Best Picture for the short “The Universe” at International Fashion Film Award, US.
